I remember that Gary kicked the winning field goal at the end of the Eastern Hills game ( I think) our senior year! Also, I found out that he was a Jefferson Airplane freak, as am I, when we talked on Facebook a few years ago. Didn't know him well, but I liked him!

I had coffee with Gary shortly before he passed. He was planning a move to Florida to be with grandchildren. Yes, he was a good man and great kicker!

I used to practice kick with Gary once in a while. I wasn't too bad, but Gary really had a leg and determination and focus. He was a very unassuming nice guy. Sorry he is gone...

Gary had that classic “Lou Groza” kicking style. We don’t see that anymore. After a winning football game, I would see Gary in the halls and congratulate out team win. He would smile, say thanks and walk on down the hall. I never got to know Gary but he had such a “confident smile” you couldn’t help but like him.
