I also remember Dave Ward and our time at the SMU cheerleading camp in the summer of 1967. He was excited and ready to do what was needed for the squad. He stepped up after Mike Malone died and became my partner for the remainder of our senior year. He smiled a lot and never complained, which I appreciated.
I only saw him occasionally after high school. I hope he had a good life.
