Glenda Wayland, 74, passed away on January 25, 2025.

Visitation: 6-8 pm. Wednesday , February 5, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 9:30 am., Thursday, February 6, 2025, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; followed by interment at Greenwood Memorial Park.

Glenda was born on April 8, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas to parents, Glenn and Joan Wayland. Glenda lived in various places and states. She started her life in Fort Worth then moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 5, and back to Fort Worth after three years. The next four years had Glenda living in Abilene, Texas; Wentzville, Missouri; New Orleans, Louisiana; and back to Fort Worth, Texas where she lived the rest of her life. Glenda attended Arlington Heights High School and graduated in 1968. After graduating, she attended Tarrant County Junior College for two years.

She started her career in the insurance business at World Service Life Insurance Company in downtown Fort Worth, TX. When World Service Life closed, Glenda moved to The Chesapeake Life Insurance CO., where she retired in 2015.

Glenda was a strong Christian woman. She believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She loved baseball and was a big fan of the Texas Rangers. Glenda was also an avid reader and she enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Glenda was preceded by her parents, Glenn and Joan Wayland; and sister-in-law, Jolene Kay Wayland.

She is survived by her brothers, John E. Wayland and Robert F. Wayland; sister-in-law, Maricela Wayland; niece, Kristen M. O'Leary; cousins, Gary and Janice Shackleford, Jim Brown, Carol Ann Shawver Vincell, Theodore, Kyle, and Claudia Freeman, Janet Shawver Parry and George Shawver.
